Travel-Etiquettes

Travel Etiquettes: Do's and Don'ts

We believe that travelling the world is a lifetime experience and a complete stress buster. Everyone should travel as much as they can. Travel makes one modest and makes you realise about a tiny place you occupy in the world. Every moment during your journey can make you feel more confident in your own abilities with all the fun & adventure; you get to learn new ways of life.

However, while you are travelling, it is also imperative to ensure that your trip is seamless, safe and well-planned. Being safe takes a concerted effort such as being aware of your surroundings and making responsible decisions. Even in safe countries or places there are risks or threats that you can actively protect yourself against.  And for the same reason, we’ve prepared a list of dos and don’ts in order to avoid any unexpected hurdles and make the most of your vacations!

  1. Keep your loved ones informed about your location

Travel Etiquettes: Do's and Don'ts

This one is absolutely very important, as your family and friends must know when and where you are going. If you are travelling abroad, consider registering with the embassy, as this allows them to reach you in an emergency and your loved ones to contact you in times of need.

  1. Get Travel Insurance

Get Travel Insurance

We spend a lot of time researching about the travel destination, but buying travel insurance can be a pretty dull affair, but getting a good travel insurance is also very important. As you may require medical attention while traveling abroad, and in many countries, medical treatment for visitors can be incredibly expensive.

  1. Learn Key Phrases in the Local Language

Learn Key Phrases in the Local Language

By making just a little bit of effort to learn key phrases in the local language will open many doors for you.  You’ll be able to converse easily with more of the locals, rather than just the ones who understand your native language. Also, if you memorize a few emergency terms like ‘Hello’ ‘help’ and ‘Thank you’ in the language of the country or place, it can really work in your favour.

  1. Plan Your Itinerary

Plan Your Itinerary

Travelling is not just about choosing a right destination and booking tickets. It is also necessary to plan your travel itinerary in advance, as it will help you to manage your time and expenditures well. If you are travelling with a guide or in a group you must always listen to your guide or your group leader for the important instructions which would be helpful.

  1. Look After Your Possessions

Look After Your Possessions

This might sound like a really obvious thing to say, but remember that you label all your belongings with your name because this reduces the chances of getting them lost. Also remember to carry your important documents, jewellery, and medicines in a separate pouch so that they are secure and handy.

Don’ts

  1. Don’t sacrifice Your Safety

Don’t sacrifice Your Safety

We agree that travelling is all about having experiences but those experiences should always be the positive ones. Getting mugged on an unsafe street because you wanted to ‘explore more’ will not be a right thing. So always remember that new places can be unsafe for hitchhiking and unlit streets should always be avoided. Also prioritize the safety of your belongings, don’t carry a large amount of money in your back pocket or if you have a large amount of money don’t count them on the street

  1. Don’t break the rules and regulations

Don’t break the rules and regulations

Always respect local traditions, and abide by the rules. Going against the local rules and regulations can make your vacation a seriously miserable experience. Therefore, always abstain from drinking and driving, obey traffic laws, dress appropriately and pay close attention to other rules followed by the locals.

  1. Don’t overspend

Don’t overspend

Always listen to the little voice inside your head that usually warns against overpriced purchases while you are travelling. So, to make sure that you don’t overspend always set spending limits before your trip. You can also audit your daily spending while you get back to your hotel room.

  1. Don’t split the group while travelling

Don’t split the group while travelling

Never split the group while travelling. Take good care of your loved ones, and always travel together. In case if you plan to explore the place alone, decide a particular point and time to meet your fellow travellers.

  1. Don’t Checkout in Hurry

Don’t Checkout in Hurry

Do not check out of the hotel in a hurry. During check-out, always ensure that all of your luggage is properly packed so that you do not end up leaving behind any of your valuables in the hotel room.

Heed our advice, grab your close friends, and get out there on the best trip of your life because #GhoomnaToBanataHai!

Pamper yourself to a babymoon vacation

Pamper yourself to a babymoon vacation before the naughty one arrives

Pamper yourself to a babymoon vacation

When a newborn is about to arrive, parents start fretting about midnight feeds and the sleep deprivation they will be witnessing soon. They look for opportunities to relax & pamper themselves and a pre-baby vacation, popularly known as Babymoon, is just what they need!

What is a babymoon?

Babymoon are one of the most popular trends in travel today. They are the ideal treat for moms and dads-to-be. These vacations give a perfect setting for couples to reconnect before they enter or re-enter parenthood and take on the responsibility of nurturing their little one.

So, if you are in that phase, seize this opportunity for one more romantic getaway before your life starts revolving around diapers and bibs. We’ll help you understand how you can plan your babymoon and what you need to make it more memorable.

How to plan the best babymoon?

Traveling with that baby bump means extra precaution and planning. It means that you need to choose an appropriate destination, have all your essentials, your medicines, emergency contact numbers in place and lots more. We’ve prepared a little checklist for you to plan your babymoon stress-free:

  1. Time it Right

Morning sickness is a common symptom for many in the first trimester. And by the final trimester, your baby bump is so big that it’ll start coming in the way of most of your activities. Plan your travel in the second trimester (between 14 and 28 weeks) to comfortably enjoy your journey.

  1. Pick the right destination

Choose a destination that interests you the most and will be worth the pampering. For instance, hit the beach if you are a beach lover or take a cosmopolitan getaway to keep it calm and relaxed. Whatever destination you choose, make sure it does not involve long hours of travel because your body is not in the condition to accept that currently.

  1. Inform your doctor

Your doctor must approve of your itinerary, your condition and other details. Flying is considered safe only if the pregnancy is healthy. In case you have any kind of complications, a babymoon may not be a good idea.

Your doctor must also prescribe all the medications required to ensure that you do not experience any side effects. All travel instructions by the doctor must be carefully taken into consideration and followed.

Blissful Babymoon Ideas

A babymoon sounds exciting but if you don’t plan it with the right idea, it could become disappointing. So, what would be the best way to spend your pre-baby vacation with a complete dose of the pampering you deserve?

Here are some ideas and some destinations to help you live the most romantic getaway with your partner:

  1. A Beach Babymoon

A lot of moms-to-be find beach waves the perfect way to soothe and calm them. The water can actually provide a support for your bump as you recline, easing the minor aches and pains. Moreover, the fresh air and warming sun can rejuvenate your mind and body.

  1. Relaxing Spa Babymoon

The objective of a babymoon is to pamper and soothe you, and what can be a better destination than a spa. In your first trimester, a massage treatment may not be ideal, but at later stages, a spa treatment will relieve you of your pains and aches. You will really feel revitalized and beautiful.

  1. Love the Nature Babymoon

A lot of women start having a better connection with nature during pregnancy. If you are one of those, it is time for you to take a vacation soaked in the natural beauty around you. There are several destinations that allow you to breathe fresh air, enjoy scenic views and take Bollywood-like pictures for a lifetime.

  1. A Gaming Babymoon

Your baby could be your lucky charm and this is the time for you to try your hands on some gambling. Head right out to casinos and play your heart out for the one last hurrah before the baby arrives.

  1. Babymoon Cruise

There are certain guidelines set by cruise which are to be followed as you may not be allowed on cruise at a particular period of your pregnancy, but if you are on, this is the time to soak in the sun with water all around and of course, a lot of delicious food.
